Product and Philosophy
What is GetProa?
GetProa is a financial decision workspace.
It supports one operating loop:
- Organize portfolio structure (
Investments) - Control monthly execution (
Budget) - Ask grounded review questions (
Assistant) - Keep decision memory (
Reports)
What makes GetProa different from a basic dashboard?
Most dashboards stop at display.
GetProa is built for decision quality:
- define the decision question
- compare options with tradeoffs
- record rationale
- review outcomes and improve the next cycle
Why does documentation focus on behavior instead of screenshots?
Screenshots age quickly. Behavioral guidance remains useful longer.
This documentation is intentionally focused on:
- why each module exists
- when to use it
- what good usage looks like
- what mistakes to avoid
Access and Permissions
Why can I access Docs without login?
Documentation is intentionally public for education, onboarding, and product orientation.
Why are Investments or Budget unavailable in my account?
These modules require authentication and module-specific permissions. If unavailable, your user group likely does not include access yet.
Do Reports require extra access?
Reports require authentication. Available actions can vary by account context and report status.
What can Proa AI access?
Assistant can only use the Proa data sources you enable in Settings: Budget, Investments, Reports, or a smaller set.
Do chats count against my AI usage?
No. Creating and organizing chats does not use AI usage. AI messages count when Proa uses AI to answer or prepare a proposal.
Are AI reports included in AI messages?
No. AI messages are separate from report quota because reports run a deeper report pipeline.
Can Assistant make financial decisions for me?
No. Assistant helps you inspect your Proa data. It does not provide financial advice, place trades, move money, rebalance portfolios, or act without confirmation.
What is the difference between a read-only answer and a proposal?
A read-only answer explains or reviews available context. A proposal is a supported change prepared for your review. Nothing changes until you confirm a reviewable proposal.
Investments
How many buckets should I create?
Use the minimum number needed to represent distinct strategy intentions. Too many buckets reduce clarity and increase maintenance noise.
Should I rebalance frequently?
Only with a clear rationale and trigger. Reactive, frequent changes usually weaken discipline.
What should I record after structural portfolio changes?
Record reason, expected outcome, risk implication, and invalidation condition.
Budget
Do I need to track every small transaction?
Track at the granularity needed for behavior control. The objective is decision quality, not maximum data entry.
When should I close a month?
After reviewing pending vs. paid items, category drift, and practical adjustments for the next cycle.
What usually breaks budget discipline?
Late updates, unstable category naming, and no weekly review routine.
Reports
What does “processing” or “pending” mean?
The report generation workflow is still running. Wait and refresh later.
What should I do when a report fails?
Check request context, confirm the need still exists, and retry with complete inputs if relevant.
How should I use completed reports?
Use them as decision memory before starting new cycles in Investments or Budget.
Assistant
Why does Assistant ask me to enable data sources?
Assistant needs explicit Settings permission before it can use Budget, Investments, or Reports data.
What should I ask Assistant?
Ask review questions tied to your own workspace, such as "What changed this month?" or "Which source should I verify before deciding?"
Can I use Assistant on Free?
Yes. Free includes read-only Assistant with a monthly AI message limit. Pro increases AI message capacity and supports reviewable proposals.
